Microsoft Certified Training

This piece is going to potentially ruffle a large amount of peoples' feathers that have stock in Microsoft.  Well, so be it.  In a world where there is more pointless crap going around than you can shake a stick at, it's about time somebody blew the whistle on these so called Microsoft certified training coaching programs and told it like it is.  If you can't come to grips with the cold hard truth, you probably should not read this.  Otherwise, you might find it quite illuminating.

Microsoft licenses are a large racket like it or not.  It's been going on for nearly 30 years now and it is not going to come to an end anytime soon.  The rationale is because it's giant business and brings millions of greenbacks every year not only to Microsoft but to all these valueless Microsoft certified training programs.  Why are a lot of them worthless?  I'll clarify.

The examination procedure is purposely made as hard as possible.  If you fail the 1st time, quite likely, the next time you take the examination, not only are the questions completely altered, but they are intentionally made harder.  This is done as an effort to get you to put more money into more coaching, not to mention the charge for the exam itself.  How does one think Microsoft makes so much money when they give most of their software away?  They charge you for the concession of using it.

Having said this, not all Microsoft certified training coaching programs are worthless.  Some are really quite first-class.  The problem is finding the coolest ones.  They are not the ones you would be expecting.  The heavy hitters are in Microsoft's pocket and have a pretty sweet deal going on with them.  So you must come across some tiny independent company that hasn't been purchased by the big machine.  This isn't so straightforward to do.

Take the time to find a training program that is actually worth taking a look at and is not in Microsoft's pocket and then you'll actually learn what you need to learn to have a snow ball's chance of passing the exam.  Yes, you will have to put some effort into it.  But at least you'll understand that when you are done with your training, you'll be on your way to a career as a Microsoft professional if that's what you need.

But that is a different article altogether.
